My Social Network Structure

I plan to try and be more structured in my social posts. Starting today if I have a “story” to tell or something that needs more than 140 characters, I will post it here on the website which automatically posts it to twitter and Google Buzz. Then I will hand feed it to Facebook.

I do not plan to post original content to Facebook or Google Buzz as I want to control more of my real content, real meaning that I am sharing something more than just a link. If I plan to post just a link I will do it more in twitter as that’s the easiest way to just post a story or link.

I have found that most of the people I have friended on Facebook really don’t care about tech news that I share or any topic that goes beyond superficial stuff..not that that’s a bad thing, but it’s kind of a waste of time to post original content to FB when you know people don’t read it or comment on it. So as I said I will post original content to my website and link it to FB so it’s on FB for others to see it but the actually article will be on my website which means I control it.

So if you want to see my articles I would suggest bookmarking my website here, or grabbing the RSS feed and put it in Google Reader and for my short “here’s a link” they will appear in Twitter ( @randypollock )

I am not giving up on Buzz, but I would prefer the comments be on my website than on FB or Buzz…now I know that’s reaching as people will comment where it’s the easiest, but it would be nice if the conversation happens here.

Crazy Man kills dozens on TN playground

This is the anniversary for the right to carry your firearm to a TN park or playground…as the media suggests we have had numerous deaths from all the crazy people carrying their guns to our children’s parks.

There hasn’t been any crazies with guns killing people in our parks? How can that be the news said this would happen.

That is so true, so you buy the best you can afford and then learn how to use it and the best way to learn a lens is to shoot with it. I need to learn that lesson and shoot more…

Jack has been playing educational games on the iPad and tonight a friend of mine since me some pictures from Smugmug and as I was viewing them on my PC Jack was sitting in my lap tapping the wrist pad on my keyboard as if he was causing the pictures to advance like it does on the iPad.

They pick it up fast.
