This lens needs light like a Tennessee good ol boy needs Sundrop. It works best with light as the 5.6 doesn’t give you much to play with as far as deep shadows or low light evenings. Tullahoma Soccer Association   We had a good time tonight going to Jack’s first practice. The weather was hot as in 95 and the sun almost hurt it shone so bright. Our little shy guy was unsure of all the other kids from the U5 group and he had a hard time participating with them when it was time to practice. Cameras come and go and one day I will replace my 7D and T1i, but glass lasts (hopefully) much longer. I added a Canon EF 400mm L 5.6 to my collection today. This will be used mainly for nature and sports. I couldn’t afford the IS version but one thing I won’t miss is the weight that IS adds to a lens.
