I preface this article with the death of any officer is tragic, that’s not the point of this post, but how you can effect the attitude of the person reading your story.

Police Officer deaths in America was up by 26 deaths for the year

When a percentage is higher than the actual number this it makes most think it’s worse than it really is…and that my friend is something to remember when reading the paper or a magazine article. Their job is to not “report the news” but to sell copies and a headline of Cop deaths up by 43% catches your attention..where Cop deaths up by 26 this year does not…
